There were two people at today's PW meeting. And I was pretty sure that I didn't wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.
So. The tough got going. What else when the going gets tough? PY and I decided that we would go to Bedok Community Library to do some reading since our sorry selves were already three quarters of the way into Bedok. That counts as research, because we were at the graphic novel section where we found a nice bit of good reading material.
Bedok Community Library is a nice place. It has 3 storeys, not to mention more than adequate seats, which is quite a big deal, at least to people like me. And PY and I could talk to each other in our normal voices without disturbing other patrons (we really didn't! we're innocent!), which shows how nicely the place is laid out. That just really makes me want to hold all our future meetings here even more. No, the two of us don't normally speak in whispers, and yes, there were actual live people in there, in case anyone was wondering.
Hooray! I found both Fables and Reflections and The Kindly Ones there, which made me quite happy once again. That puts me at the halfway mark in my Sandman reading.
I rented and watched Pan's Labyrinth today. It was REALLY GOOD! I was worried that I'd be disappointed after reading so many good reviews on it. I get a little paranoid sometimes. But it totally exceeded expectation, and expectation is high. And it's not really a specifically foreign film/arthouse buff thing. It's a universally enjoyable film :) A movie hasn't been this satisfying for me in a while.
Guillermo del Toro is the man!
